E3 LOGO for KS

E3 Returns to Foam City on May 11!

When: Saturday, May 11
Time: 8:00PM (doors open at 7:40)
Where: Foam City (409 N 3rd St.)
How Much: $5

Join us on Saturday, May 11 for our last E3 of the spring as Double-Edge Dance comes to town from Ohio! Double–Edge Dance is a contemporary dance and music company co-founded in 1993 by choreographer/dancer Kora Radella and composer/saxophonist Ross Feller. They have performed their work throughout the U.S.A. and in Belgium, England, the Netherlands, Scotland, Spain, and Switzerland. Double-Edge Dance conjures multiple perspectives by utilizing a diverse array of artistic themes and processes. They work with contradiction and juxtaposition, layering materials and images including idiosyncratic movement invention, unpredictable phrasing, full 3-D motion, and disorientation paired with point-on precision. Double-Edge Dance maintains a sense of live spontaneity through choreography, composition, and improvisation.

Also on the program will be the E3 co-founder Danny Weiss, as well as the mysterious Lafayette ensemble Boredom of the Bar, a noise spectacle ensemble, led by Zachary Baiel.

Come celebrate improvisation with E3.

JOSEPHINE FOSTER is a modern American folk singer-songwriter and musician from Colorado. As an adolescent she worked as a funeral and wedding singer, and aspired to become an opera singer. Later she abandoned the idea and began to record demos of her songs. Upon moving to Chicago she worked as a singing teacher,  began releasing her own solo albums while recording and performing with a variety of musical acts.

BRAINSTORMS pairs visual artist Dana Carter’s cosmic sunlight animations with freakadelic song seamstress Jason Ajemian’s musical blueprints for breath process orchestration, weaving together a hypnotic aural visual experience mirroring the slowness of the natural world.

The Hoosier Spring

I always thought Lafayette was hardest on the creative types. Hard-heads like TV Ghost have even been pummeled into soft pop submission. Shit, Tim Gick just got married. Talk about disappointment ….the guys a total turncoat. Paul Baldwin is about to shut down Foam City, because as an extra FUCK YOU, Lafayette has decided to boycott his taste and leave it to the stoned-out youth to fill out the ranks of his shows idling for free while he hands each act several C-notes. I’m about to rent out a space at that damn money pit just to hold Therapy sessions for all of the misguided, inspired, and gifted individuals. I’ll change the name to Foam Pity.

ALL MY FRIENDS ARE CHARITY CASES.

These guys are from Bloomington and I keep hearing about them. Excited to see them cut their teeth at Foamcity.

AZ live at Foamcity 3/7/13

Here is a recording from Zernack’s last show. Totally cool stuff- I thought it would be nice to share recordings from the shows we do at Foamcity.

We just have redesigned our website and trying to make Foamcity a better place for everybody, including us. We moved in one year ago into the building and it has been a blast. Hope that we can spread more foam in the lafayette area for many years to come.
